KORN radically changed the world of harsh rock music with their revolutionary mix. “We bring chaos into the music, mix it up with some dissonance and atonality to some kind of melody” explains singer Jonathan Davies the philosophy of KORN. After the band came up with some gigs at 'Rock am Ring' and 'Rock im Park' in summer and some exclusive live shows and after their 8th untitled album climbed up to the Top 3 of the album charts, the band announced their next big tour through Germany. As of 27th January 2008 the fans will get the opportunity to watch this perfectly staged darkness and harshness in full live-intensity.

Venues will be in Cologne, Berlin, Leipzig and Munich. The situation of the Hard- and Heavy scene in the early 90s reminded a little bit of the extinction of the dinosaurs. Brit-pop exponentials and pop punks dominated the guitar rock scene, while old school metal acts failed on their inability to evolve. It was at that time where new forms of music that combined dark urban rhythms and muddy guitar riffs with expressionistic raptures of Hip Hop, Hardcore and Noise-Rock were created in the south of California. Wild vocal-structures pending between sentimentality and sharpness put their stamp on slicing sound-mashups with innovative metal interpretations.

KORN approached the teenagers who were disillusioned by missed opportunities and violence. “We may not change the world, but the music”. That's what Jonathan Davies once said about the credo of KORN. The albums “Korn” (1994), “Life is Peachy” (1996), “Follow the Leader” (1998), “Issues” (2000), “Untouchables” (2002), “Take a look in the Mirror” (2003) and “See you on the other side” (2005) demonstrated an enormous amount of creativity - and brought the band - amongst some platinum awards - several Grammies and sales figures, that speak a clear language. KORN sold 25 million albums in the past 14 years. What is remarkable about that is that the band made its success with the direct contact with their fans on countless tours. The most vivid group in rock music has never be softened by their success.

KORN are still full of aggression and emotional cogency that expresses itself through uncompromising songs. After guitarist Brian Welsh had left the band two years ago, it was all up to James 'Munky' Shaffer to present the classic KORN guitar sound on the latest album. Earthy, dark and uncompromising pressuring. Supported by bassist Fieldy and several guest drummers, Shaffer and Davis created a new milestone with the new CD that - at the same time - explores new sound realms and therefore gets along without a title for a good reason.

“One special thing about the album is that we laid down our blinders. As we wanted to cross borders with it, the album shouldn’t be limited by a title” explains Davies. Instead of that the album stands in line with the big nameless albums like the black album (METALLICA) or the white album (THE BEATLES).

A good decade has passed since KORN caused the biggest sensation since NIRVANA with heir debut album. To day their characteristic sound is Nu-Metal sound is more fascinating than ever. A look into the crowd proves that. “When we began, our crowd consisted almost without any exceptions of teenagers. Today those kids from back then are adults; some of them are lawyers or doctors and now taking their kids to our shows”. In the upcoming January and February KORN will appear in Cologne, Berlin, Leipzig and Munich - Four dates on which several generations will come together for their apocalyptic “Rock Noir”.
