With its second issue coming up this June, the Blackfield Festival is still a very young one, but there can be absolutely no doubt that it’s already one of the top festivals Germany has to offer to the Dark Alternative music scene. On its premier last year, the festival lured about 4,000 people on every of its three days to the wonderful location of the Amphitheater Gelsenkirchen celebrating peacefully a big party with their favourite bands.

This year is promised to even go better with a line-up consisting of such renowned acts as VNV NATION headlining the Saturday surely up to nothing short of shaking the Amphitheater to its very foundations with fireworks of beats, a pile of awesome melody and good temper. Sunday’s closing act is no one less than ASP who’ll cover the scenery in a dark romantic veil. Besides that, acts like electro legend PROJECT PITCHFORK, DIARY OF DRAMS and the stage devil himself Chris Corner aka IAMX will cater for making this festival a memorable event.

This year the organizers also have another special up their sleeves. On Friday 19th June 2009 there’ll be a Warm-Up showcase at Zeche Carl in Essen with three additional live bands. On this evening, SEABOUND, ABSURD MINDS and SOMAN will

get you into the perfect mood for the upcoming festival weekend, but that’s not all. Afterwards (Around 11:30 PM) the party continues at the large hall of the venue. The warm-up party on the other 2 floors already starts at 10 PM. Expect various guest DJ’s providing you with the very best of electronic music.
