Capitol, Offenbach, Germany
7th March 2010
Marc Almond

The British singer and songwriter was once a half of the popular electro duo SOFT CELL he founded together with David Ball in 1980. After delivering hits such as mega-seller `Tainted Love´, ´Torch´ and `Say Hello, Wave Goodbye´, MARC ALMOND started his solo-career in 1984. Since that time, he is well-known for dramatic, orchestral and opulent pop songs that partly feature nostalgic influences. Released in October 1988, the duet `Something’s gotten hold of my Heart´ he sang together with GENE PITNEY turned out to be a big hit all over Europe. Besides that, MARC ALMOND collaborated with many other artists such as ROSENSTOLZ, SIOUXSIE SIOUX, JIMMY SOMERVILLE and NINA HAGEN.

Up to now, he can look back on an extensive discography including gems such as `Enchanted´ (1990), `Fantastic Star´ (1996), `Stranger Things´ (2001) or `Stardom Road´ (2007). With the latter one up to his sleeves, he had eight appearances in Germany in spring 2009. In 2010, after 30 years on stage, he will be back in Germany to play several concerts within the scope of his “The Varieté 30 Years Anniversary Tour”. On 7th March, the charming entertainer with the emotive voice will perform at the Capitol which is located in the city of Offenbach.
