The Middle East on probation: Whilst people in the region are raising their voice against yearlong oppressing authorities, THE KORDZ from Beirut (Lebanon) happen to deliver the region’s groundbreaking change’s soundtrack.
The band’s debut BEAUTY & THE EAST (Heroes & Killers Edition) is going to be released as CD / DVD on March 2nd/5th, 2012 via earMUSIC / Edel. A true coincidence of happenings in the band’s home region overlapping with the highly praised debut album of THE KORDZ. The release's bonus DVD features an impressive "behind the scenes" documentary on the imponderables in being part of a Middle Eastern subculture and what it takes to preserve passion and the will to pursue a career in popular music - against all odds.
The album effortlessly combines opposite, divergent, musical worlds in a stark reflection of the band’s origin in being the living proof of coexistence of various beliefs, different mindsets, and cultures. Probably for the first time, these worlds have been engineered on such a high professional level, serving fans of modern alternative rock, traditional Arabic harmonies and those people always searching for something unique. THE KORDZ had already made their mark internationally even before finishing their debut album! Supporting headlining bands like Placebo, Circle II Circle, Deep Purple and Robert Plant, the band had earned international recognition for their class act and quality rock from the Middle East. The debut album BEAUTY & THE EAST (Heroes & Killers Edition) was produced by Grammy nominated producer Ulrich Wild (Breaking Benjamin, Seether, Static x, Deftones, etc.). This spring the band is set to rock European stages again!
