Starting 2007 as a one-man-project, German hyperactive four-piece EXT!ZE from Baden-Wuerttemberg released its recent EP `Hellektrostar´ in this year´s August and had contributed some tracks to several compilations before. They now present their first full-length piece of work entitled with `FallOut Nation´ that is going to hit the stores on 30th October. Listeners of the appetizer EP `Hellektrostar´ should know what to expect from the all in all 15 tracks including two remixes made by FABRIK-C and THE LADDER.
For those who haven´t heard of EXT!ZE before: The shrill appearance of the band members totally matches with their musical style that is influenced by Techno, Industrial and Cyber Electro. Therefore, `FallOut Nation´ is clearly addressed to club-goers who enjoy danceable thunderstorm-like sounds featuring mercilessly stamping beats, exalted vocals and distorted synth effects. The first seconds of the opener `Poser´ might be irritating due to the usage of a `Carmina Burana´ sample that soon leads over to the actual stylistic characteristics of EXT!ZE that will either make your legs move or blow your ears away. While I was listening to tracks such as `Underground Cendrillion´ or `Aerial Zombies´, images of the pink Duracell rabbit came to my mind.
It´s a certain pinch of craziness coupled with individuality that reclaim my respect although I´m not the biggest fan of technoid tunes like these. Consequently, fun should be guaranteed for anyone who finds pleasure in aggressive and colourful Hellectro.
