Album Review
Echozone’s first Label Sampler is recently released. This label, well known as a blacksmith of gothic acts for several years, honours their audience with an overview. The double-CD Box incl. 8-page booklet will feature all their artists plus special guest NIK PAGE with this track ‘Voices from outer Space’ (Valicon Electrified Mix). It also features 11 currently unreleased and / or exclusive tracks and remixes, e.g. from AKANOID, WAYNE HUSSEY, MOON.74 and AVOID-A-VOID.
The first CD is called ‘Analogue’ and contains the bands within the Gothic / Gothic Rock / Indie genre… to simplify matters: it’s the chapter with the guitar parts! Outstanding versions of WHISPERS IN THE SHADOW, WHITE ROSE TRANSMISSION, SAINTS OF RUIN, BORN FOR BLISS (!!!) and WAYNE HUSSEY (Awesome live version!) demonstrate the bandwidth of Echozone’s assortment.
The second CD, called ‘Digital’, shows the selection of Echozone in - wait for it - electro genre! Taking the chance of presenting some remixes (listen to AKANOID - pretty good remix!), I have to say, that there is most of all one outstanding feature on this album: AVOID-A-VOID! These guys are fucking awesome, in my opinion. I predict famousness and prosperity!
What else can I say? Two CDs at a low price, awesome bands and an overview of what one of the most influential labels is struggling to promote: a lot of reasons to buy!
