Turbinenhalle, Oberhausen, Germany
31st January 2009
Lordi

The monsters are back! End of October, they released their new album ‘Deadache’ and in January and February, LORDI play five concerts in Germany and will bring their fans a hot Hard Rock show.

Founded in 1992, they had their breakthrough in 2006. Back then, LORDI stepped up for Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest and won the contest for the Scandinavian country - for the first time ever. All the more surprising that they succeeded with a Metal track (‘Hard Rock Hallelujah’ which stormed the music chart afterwards) regardless - or maybe because of their appearance as LORDI perform, dressed like a gang of monsters and zombies. Parallels to the US Metal band GWAR are obvious here. All masks and costumes have been designed by Tomi ‘Lordi’ Putaansuu, who’s not only the front man of the band, but also an excellent make-up and special effects artist.

Musically, LORDI are drawing influences from the big names of the 70s and 80s Hard Rock. You can find KISS, and TWISTED SISTER as well as W.A.S.P or ALICE COOPER. Together with the impressing stage outfit, a bombastic live show is guaranteed!
