Bloodstock Open Air
It's all excitement in the UK as we have less than a month to go before the biggest independent heavy metal festival in the British Isles kicks off with the legendary Bloodstock Open Air. Situated conveniently in the Midlands and close to all major travel routes, this festival is truly huge and offers bands as diverse as Europe, Cradle of Filth and Katatonia. It's hardly surprising that this festival has something for every type of rock fan.
Its success in recent years speaks for itself and we will be treated to eighty bands (and counting) all offering the very best in metal with Blitzkrieg filling a last minute stage slot as an added bonus and Sodom performing their first UK date in over 20 years. Headlining this year are Europe, Carcass, Arch Enemy and Blind Guardian as well as ever popular festival heavies such as Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, Satyricon and Amon Amarth.
