Starting in the early 1980s under the name DISNEYLAND AFTER DARK, D-A-D released the first EP in 1985. After the commercially successful long-player `No Fuel left for the Pilgrims´ (1989), the Danish Rock band had to change its name as the Walt Disney Company had exercised a veto. Henceforth, the musicians from Copenhagen have been known as D-A-D.

Being an annual headliner of the big Roskilde Festival, the band is still very popular in Denmark and can look back on ten long-players. Within the scope of the recent album `Monster Philosophy´ (2008), D-A-D will have an appearance at the this year’s Wacken Open Air in Germany followed up by the “Monster Philosophy Tour” that will lead them through its mother country as well as through Germany.

On 21st September 2009 and supported by the young British Glam rockers HEAVEN’S BASEMENT, Jesper Binzer (vocals, guitar), Stig Pedersen (bass), Jacob Binzer (guitar) and Laust Sonne (drums) are going to play at the Frankfurt Batschkapp.
