EP Review
In this year’s August, the Swedish duo DUPONT consisting of Riccardo (vocals) and Danucci (machines) introduced the third long-player `Entering the Ice Age´ to their listeners. They now release the first EP `New Dawn´ from this recording. Besides the album version of `New Dawn´, the EP also contains two remixes done by Oscar Holter (NECRO FACILITY) and the Swedish newcomer TITAN. The track is a lively up-tempo song that appears pretty modern and danceable. Riccardo´s distinctive vocals add a special pinch of expressiveness to the polished soundscape. Therefore, it could turn out to be a club hit not only addressing the dark scene but also anyone who likes to work out on the dance floor. I appreciated the first remix in particular, as Oscar Holter was able to bestow the original song a certain kind of dynamics and atmospheric denseness.
