Album Review

Santi White used to work for some record labels which gave her an experience in the industry and connections to enter as an artist - SANTIGOLD. Her new (second) album ‘Master Of My Make-Believe’ has an interesting song, ‘God from the Machine’, which sounds as it takes some of the Electro/ New Wave anthemic songs. Darker on the guitar parts and outstanding beat. However, after this it’s full of dull, boring and mediocre songs. The mixture of genres is far too disparate, chaotic and producing nothing but yawns. There’s so very little to enjoy here and moreover, the listen felt like a complete waste of time. The energy of it feels tired, without a clear direction, there’s very little to engage, even for just fun, the only fun moment may only be within the last ‘Big Mouth’ with a hint of carnival atmosphere.
