Album Review

Well, well time flies rapidly it seems. It is indeed already five years since Tympanik Audio emerged on the scenery as an aspiring label aiming to deliver high quality sophisticated electronic music. Now that five years have passed we can conclude that the formula worked out. The label is amongst the big ones and it doesn't stop to dig up new exciting artists, and god knows we don't want that to stop ever. 'Accretion' is the label's way of saying thank you for five years of support with a massive assortment of 42 tracks unreleased and exclusive. Amongst them the return of UNTERM RAD following years of silence with the celestial 'Inamorata' to be followed by another one of ACCESS TO ARASKA's ingenious tracks building up walls of textures upon decaying foundations. Those are serving lead-ins to a gradual shift of perspective that culminates in tracks like the cold 'Reso' or the torture that lies within TOTAKEKE's noise bastard 'In The Woods'. The stormy sea recedes for just a little bit to make space for 'Plan B', a very percussion-driven yet quietly immersive journey by AD-VER-SARY

ZELLER then lets you know what happens if you narrow everything down to just shaping rhythms on rhythms before ENDIF hits deep in the truest sense of the word with a mutilated bass drum that could drive even pricey speakers to their limits. What I always loved about TAPAGE is that you can never know what's coming your way. Initially the track's building up a spectacular sound stage adding gradually new ingredients, flipping beats, embracing atmospheres. Lights Of Us' is proof that DISHARMONY are still out there. This one represents the old-school side of the duo's varied sound. As we're speaking of happy returns already BLACK LUNG comes around to bring us 'The Brotherhood of Saturn' rising up to celestial spheres while the beat remains down on earth literally. At first I thought to go on to the very end but that'd take ages, so I'll rather give you the good advice to grab this compilation that is holding a ton of good material still for a killer price. To the next 5 years and may they be as successful as the first.
