“He did more for the emancipation of the male sex than anyone else”, a young enthusiast was heard to comment the oeuvre of musclebound captain Rummelsnuff, his tongue firmly in cheek. A tongue-in-cheek humor and inklings of self-irony are also trademarks of Rummelsnuff’s lyrics, set to his “derbe Strommusik” (=raw electric music.) Right on time for ascension day 2012, the traditional day for celebrating manhood in Germany, the charming strong man’s third opus will hit the shops. An album for men… and sympathizers. The album has been aptly titled “Himmelfahrt” (=ascension day) and is even more versatile than its predecessors… ranging from the Electro-Rockabilly-mix of “Türsteher”, the smashing electronic anthem to Berlin’s famous Berghain club “Machen wir den Tanz!”, the Electro-Punk of “Derbe Strommusik”, right down to unplugged bare bones Sea Shanties like “Trägt die Woge dein Boot”, that warm the heart with everyday stories and maritime metaphors.
The album features collaborations with the Bolschewistische Kurkapelle Schwarz Rot, Patenbrigade Wolff, the captain’s long time companion Rajko Gohlke on guitar (now also in Knorkator) and the accordion virtuoso Butz. A one-off celebrates father’s day… music with muscles and heart!
