Sweden's most successful synthpop band S.P.O.C.K released an album every second year a little more than a decade ago. During some extra intense years they were seen everywhere: climbing charts, all sorts of TV shows, loads of concerts, including major festivals in Sweden and Europe, a coast-to-coast US tour, etc. The latest album was released in 2001, since then creativity has been somewhat limited. But quitting has never been an option; they continue to do big shows on a regular basis. Now they've been invited to the biggest synth festival in North America, Kinitek - and what a great opportunity to present a fantastic compilation to a market where the material has been hard to acquire. Most of the S.P.O.C.K catalogue has been long deleted so, a worldwide release is of course a must.
The tracks are taken from the three albums released on their own record label SubSpace Communications, and include hard-to-find songs and versions, e.g. singles previously not digitally released, remastered stuff and the best album tracks. 80 minutes of action packed pop from all corners of the galaxy, presented as if it were a live concert, their best and most appreciated environment. A fabulous chronicle! "Another Piece of the Action: Best of the SubSpace Years" will be available as digital download as well as limited edition relief digipak CD and transparent double vinyl LP. The album will be released on the 5th of June. Check out the amusing video "Where Rockets Fly" at YouTube. Pre-order the CD at Storming The Base.
