tremonti alliwas'All I Was' will show another, a harder side of Mark Tremonti. He is known as guitar player in ALTER BRIDGE and CREED. He's got a Grammy Award, sold 40 million albums and was voted three times as "Guitarist of the Year" by renowned magazine "Guitar World". "Total Guitar" magazine voted him as fourth-best Heavy Metal guitarist of all times. On his solo debut he'll be of course playing the guitar. But he also takes over the vocal part, supported by Eric Friedman on rhythm guitar and Garrett Whitlock on drums.

With his solo album, Tremonti returns to his metal roots. His guitar play was first and foremost influenced by bands such as PANTERA or METALLICA. Mark himself tells about the sound on 'All I Was': "From day one in Creed, I'd pull out metal riffs and the guys would remind me that we weren't Slayer," he laughs. "Over the years, our sound got heavier. Then, Alter Bridge became even heavier than Creed. That's my foundation. It's a style that I'm really comfortable with. Now, there are no holds barred. I figured the solo album was my opportunity to get that part of myself out there without losing the sense of melody I've worked so hard to achieve."

'All I Was' will will be out on 20th July 2012.
