17 Pygmies is (or is it are?) proud to announce we have made it without serious injury through the first half of their PledgeMusic/Isabel I Campaign and they are busily pushing forward with teir plans to release both a limited edition Isabel I CD and the Celestina comic book. As promised, their Pledgers have been the first (other than the band members) to receive numerous exclusive updates and special releases. These exclusives included sketches of Celestina, Captain Mora, Isabel, Dr. Calixto, proposed spacecraft (as in the image above) and even an entire page layout from the Celestina comic book.
Pledgers have also received exclusive updates on the Isabel CD, most notably Jackson Del Rey's guitar and keyboard "scratch" track of Isabel I. Scratch tracks show the compositions in their formative stages before any additional Pygmy band members or outside musicians contributions have been added. Sort of a front row sneak peek at the "weird scenes inside the copper mine" as they like to call it.
In the next 60 days, the Pygmy plan for world domination includes releasing more sketches, additional scratch tracks as well as parts of the Isabel I short story and additional artwork associated with the Isabel I CD. As part of their campaign they have also released several planks of the Pygmy Party. 1. Graphic Novels, we're for them! 2. A Theremin in every home and a gerbil in every habitat. 3. Asylum for Prince Harry and Julian Assange. 4. Bringing back hot-pants and 5. Nick Cave for President.
