dod2012DIARY OF DREAMS are releasing their acoustic album "The Anatomy of Silence" tomorrow. Seeing the tracklist one might ask: Where is the eleventh song? And that’s a question Adrian got asked several times lately, because originally, the band announced 11 songs for “the Anatomy of Silence”. Maybe the lastes press release gives some more info...

"At the end, only 10 tracks made it onto CD. Why? Well, the 11th piece was supposed to be “kindrom”, but shortly before finishing the album, Adrian and Gauna kicked the song from the album at the last moment because it didn't match the vision they had in mind for this song. During the upcoming tour, they’ll already present the re-worked version of the song and additionally, you’ll hear several other songs Diary of Dreams have never presented live before.

A line-up reduced to drums, piano, acoustic guitars and bass, cello, double bass and vocals might sound basic or simple, but within the scope of these compositions, the instruments blend to create great depth and power. It carries a heaviness that feeds off the clear definition of the instruments but leaves enough space for the listener to lose himself hopelessly in this music. With this space and atmosphere, these musical pieces sound like they are to be discovered for the first time, and yet, they sound familiar and close. Let us pause for a moment and venture on a new musical chapter: "the Anatomy of Silence" - on stage and on CD for Diary of Dreams and their fans a completely new experience.

Recently, the band was lucky things didn't turn out worse when pianist Taste had to cancel all shows between 25th Oct and 4th Nov due to health reasons. Faster than expected they found a sensational replacement in Torben Wendt, a friend and creative partner of the band and also the mastermind of Diorama. Maybe fate had its hand in this since Torben Wendt can be heard also on the upcoming CD “the Anatomy of Silence”, out on Friday 19th October 2012, playing piano and joining Adrian Hates on vocals during the emotional acoustic ballad “AmoK”.

It’ll be exciting to see what other surprises are still waiting for us…"
