jesuscleaver confidenceBrisbane's most enduring yet underground dark alternative outfit, The Jesus Cleaver, today announced the release of their bombastic new digital single, "Confidence". The track is heavily influenced by the kink/BDSM/fetish scene. "It's basically a love song", explained founding singer/songwriter, John P Shea, "but with a savage twist". Shea said that the song was written in response to the abundance of deeply personal tweets on the subject. "Some of the people I follow on Twitter are posting very intimate tweets about their lives. If you have any sort of voyeuristic tendencies, then it's difficult not to be unmoved by some of these." he said.

The single follows the release of part 1 of the band's follow-up album, "Life In Clouds", but is likely to be included in an upcoming release of similarly-themed works, rather than part 2, which is currently in production. "Confidence" features heavy beats and a delicious bass line, which are a perfect complement to the subject matter of the lyrics. Shea explains that for DJs, this song is "probably our most accessible yet. Our writing style is lyric-driven, so we don't write songs for any particular format [such as the dance floor], but "Confidence" definitely has its own groove".

The track made its online debut in an exclusive preview on New York's long-running GOTHIKA show, with DJ Bronxelf spinning the track in a recent "The Thursday Night Apocalypse" show. DJ servicing is currently under way world-wide. The lyrics and full-length stream of the song are available @http://music.thejesuscleaver.com/track/confidence. For fans, a copy of the track is now available for immediate download (USD1.00), in various formats including mp3 and lossless (FLAC, ALAC (Apple Lossless)).
