With the new work "So close ...so far" the Cologne-based quartet proves, how stunning intensive, atmospheric and unmouldy-spirited a sound construction can sound like, which is anchored deep in the post punk of the very first hour, but got transported into today with authenticity and originality. Two years after "A Different Place" the four musicians lay down their own, simply amazing proof for matured souvereignity. Aimed guitars, driving bass, varied, precise drums and gloomy, emotional vocals build an outstanding soundscape.

"So close ...so far" is brilliant at imagination, variation and completely caught in a crossfire of influences. So next to bands such as The Chameleons or The Cure, oneself also can hear influences of The Stranglers, The Sisters of Mercy or Joy Divsion, without neglecting their originality. Mysterious, associatively lyrics full of depths and airy hints carrying through "So close ...so far" Summoning encounters, which enchant and bring a long reverberation through life. This soaked with felicitous metaphors lyrics handle personal impressions, that go from childhood until the early maturity or reflexions about old friendships or lost liaisons - and open a door to the new, the unexpectable, bring up a possible reconcillation with the own ego.

To perfect the album, Lotus Feed come up with their very own interpretation of the Chameleons-classic "Second Skin" to assure a gloriuos ending, which definitely won't be forgotten quickly, as many cover versions are nowadays.

"All we said seems unspoken and now something's broken." ("Loveshock")

This album is a kind of restart - but what a restart! Singer Alex comments the production process with the following words: "We really worked hard, came much closer in our friendships and I don't want to miss any moment of this collaboration."

"So close ...so far" is from now on available on bandcamp and from February 1st 2013 on at every well-known stores and on afmusic as a download as well as on CD.
