omd2013ORCHESTRAL MANOEUVRES IN THE DARK, Short OMD, the British electronic music legends, signed a worldwide deal with BMG Rights Management to release their new album ‘English Electric’, to be released on Germany on 5th April 2013. Written, recorded, produced and mixed by Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys, the album contains 12 songs dealing with technics, the universe and love. The release marks a come-back of the band, whose hit ‘Enola Gay’ from 1980 enthused again during the opening ceremony of Olympic Games last year.

On ‘English Electric’, catchy Synth Pop meets with sharp finesse electric ballads and huge club sounds. Among others, the album presents the musical dystopia ‘Please Remain Seated’ and ‘Decimal’, coming with a video being directed by German movie and graphic designer Henning M. Lederer. Other highlights are ‘Kissing the Machine’ being recorded together with ex-KRAFTWERK member Karl Bartos, and ‘Metroland’, the first single out off ‘English Electric’, being released on 22nd March 2013. With their new release, OMD celebrates its 35th band anniversary and will embark onto tour through Europe and the USA.
