David Draiman, front man of DISTURBED, comes with his new solo project DEVICE. But well, solo project is probably not the right description. The self-titled album, to be released on 5th April 2013 via Warner Music, was written by Draiman together with Geno Lenardo (Ex-Filter). Guests on the album are Serj Tankian (System of a Down), Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine), Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath), Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Black Country Communion), M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold) and Lizzy Hale (Halestorm). The band in studio and forthcoming live shows consists of drummer Will Hunt (Evanescence) und Dope and Rock of Ages gitarrist Virus.
According to Dariman, DEVICE is no Metal. It is influenced by early Industrial Rock in the likes of NINE INCH NAILS / MINISTRY and has a dark electronic vibe. The songs are big, hymnic and melodic, recalls Draiman. Something like "futuristic Rock". You can now watch the fist video "Vilify".
