The modern EBM duo XP8 looked to their fan base for support to help release their fifth studio album titled Adrenochrome. XP8 launched an Indiegogo project to help fund the CD pressing of Adrenochrome: the crowdfunding project started on May 8th offering many different perks for donating such as a digital download of the album up to getting a producer credit on the album and guest passes to a show. Their fanbase came out in force and helped XP8 reach their goal within 18hrs.

Andrenochrome is far more than just your traditional album: based on a story written by Marko, one half of XP8, in the late 1990's and recently revised, it takes place in the not so distant future in a third recession London. It follows two individuals, Liam Bateman and Kath Hastings. Liam is assisting Kath from being captured by various organizations for information she carries. You follow them through all the twists, turns, and deception. The story is full of intriguing characters with larger than life personalities. A story very cyberpunk in nature, calling upon all the classic themes of the genre and maintaining a distinct rivethead feel, but overall fans of Sci-Fi or suspense will too be captivated by the story. Every track on Andrenochrome is named after a chapter in the book and the music acts as the perfect accompaniment to the story, but of course will also be played as a standalone in a club, car, or your home.
Expect all the classic, unrelenting beat assault XP8 has trademarked in its career, an airy blend of EBM, electronica, techno and trance aimed at the heart of the dancefloor. The music will keep listeners moving through the night in timeless waves, emitting subtle hints of the 1980s while slipping easily into sounds of the new millennium: glitchy patterns, sharp simulated strings, and clear vocals travel through bright sequences and brooding atmospheres.
The crowdfunding project will still continue. XP8 have offered stretch goals such as if they reach 3000$ they will release a 7'' vinyl (a very sought-after media, these days) for one of the upcoming singles. If they reach 8000$ they will make a brand new music video.
Andrenochrome is set to be released digitally on June 1st and will be available on CD, in a deluxe digipack edition, in Mid-July. All dates are worldwide.
