SCHANDMAUL will release their new album 'Unendlich' on January 24th, 2014, preceded by the single 'Euch zum Geleit' on January 10th via Universal Music. In the currently very popular world of Folk Rock, SCHANDMAUL are somthing like the big Saturday evening show: the evergreen for 15 years, full of rituals, exciting interludes, favoured guests with the perfect entertainer Thomas Lindner - the spectacle for the complete family, might it be Punk grandchild, knight, eco bride, Gothic girl or the suit wearing uncle. The Munich based group guarantees highest audience rates. Concerts are festive days for numerous fans from North Sea to Meditaranean Sea. The latest albums were all entering the Top Ten. Band and audience are growing together, growing further, neverending, as the new record 'Unendlich' promises.
The fan knows what he gets: first class ministrel art, fun-loving folk, thundering rock and magical medieval sounds. But any album is also a real surprise bag. A while ago, all musicians were heavily in love, as Lindner says. So, the most successful album so far, 'Traumtänzer', was a very romantic one with lots of ballads. They are all still in love, but now happier, jauntier, fresher, more drunk, telling and chummy. The single of the album is based on a true story. Martin Durckstein describes the funeral of a dear friend, who askes the priest to read a letter: "never mind, don't cry, life was beautiful". Big emotions and even bigger stories are the business of Thomas Lindner. And so is the new album, as Lindner says, "the biggest epos we have".
