After ‘Only Human’ at the latest, everyone should have the group from Denmark on the radar. Now, CARPARK NORTH are finally back with their new work ‘Phoenix’ (release: 17th April). CARPARK NORTH is a Danish electro rock band which was founded in 1999 in Aarhus. The first record deal was signed with EMI Denmark in 2000 by the band, the debut record ‘Carpark North’ was released in February 2003. The first single ‘Transparent & Glasslike’ became a radio hit immediately and the record was sold 10,000 times in the first week already. In the following months the record gained platinum status, the tour through Denmark was sold out completely. In 2005 the second record ‘All Things to All People’ followed, which was recorded in the legendary PUK studios in Denmark and was mixed together with Michael Pattersen (Black Rebel Motor Cycle Club, P.Diddy, among others) in Los Angeles. The next record ‘Grateful’ was recorded by the band in their own studio in Copenhagen and released by the Danish independent label Copenhagen Records. The long-player which was mixed by the producer Brian Sperber (Moby, Julian Casablancas) was released in 2008, reached platinum status again and even exceeded the great success of the debut record ‘Carpark North’. In 2009, the Swedish management Mr. Radar got in touch with CARPARK NORTH which conciliated a worldwide contract with Sony Music for the band.
In 2011 the band opened one of the most luxurious studios of Denmark in the heart of Copenhagen, the Apparat Studio. They spent the two following years on recording a new record which they produced on their own. ‘Phoenix’, which was mixed by Michael Ilbert (Robyn, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, among others), was already released in Denmark in January 2014. The record as well as the single ‘32’ reached position one of the Danish charts and with almost hundred shows only in Denmark CARPARK NORTH were the most touring band in Denmark 2014. Now the single ‘32’ which came into being with ALPHABEAT singer Stine Bramsen in Denmark is also released in Germany – guest singer here is the GUANO APES front woman Sandra Nasic.
