As the KINGS OF LEON released their third album ‘Because of the Times’ in April 2007, the US magazine Entertainment Weekly splashed out and honoured the work with the predicate ‘Splendid Achievement’ the US Rolling Stone was wondering “How good can the KINGS OF LEON still get? They already surpassed all expectations”. In the US, the four-piece, consisting of the three brothers Caleb, Nathan und Jared plus cousin Matthew, managed to sell out the famous Radio City Music Hall in New York and the Greek Theatre in Hollywood.

After critics labelled ‘Because of our Time’ as “The work of a band on the apex of their creativity”, they can be curious which words will float out of their pen, once they heard ‘Only by the Night’, being released on 19th September 2008. The album picks up, where ‘Because of the Times’ left off and brings the band forward on their way to become one of the world’s best Rock bands of all time. With their great melodies, brilliant guitar sounds and razor sharp grooves, the KINGS OF LEON will fulfil all expectations, woken in the minds of fans and critics alike with ‘Only by the Night’.

From the depressing atmosphere of the opener ‘Closer’ (According to Caleb, it’s about lovelorn vampire) to the emotional intensity of the closing ballad ‘Cold Desert’ (A song about a man who’s at the end of his powers, but is getting up again under his own steam) ‘Only by the Night’ is pure ‘Heart’ from the first to the last second.
