The album “Blackest Blue” was first released in november 2008 and was originally only available on the bands homepage (http://www.moonrise.de/). The band offered a free downloadable pre-release prior to that. In co-operation with afmusic and Danse Macabre the album is now available again in many shops and download stores (e.g. Amazon, iTunes, Rhapsody).

Uniting classical goth-anthems with modern rock and wave sounds “Blackest Blue” shows the whole range of Moonrises abilities. 2008 was a studio-year indeed. January saw the recording of “Blackest Blue”, directed by Axel Ermes (Girls under Glass). The band first recorded the basic-tracks live to capture the special atmosphere of the songs. Moonrise then pimped their album over the year by adding backing vocals.

They continued working on “Blackest Blue” until late autumn of 2008. Meanwhile in summer Moonrise went to Berlin to record an alternative version of “Vorbei” with Peter Heppner which is to be heard on Heppner´s solo album, released on 12.9.2008. Early 2009 Moonrise again accompany Peter Heppner to Berlin and support his gig in the Kultur-Brauerrei, celebrated by the audience.

Moonrise will be club-touring Germany again in 2009. More info soon on
