Finnish Doom metal band SWALLOW THE SUN released a new digital single today, via Spinefarm Records UK.  'New Moon’  is the titletrack from their latest album.  The single comes with “Servant Of Sorrow” as the B-side, which features guitarist Steve Rothery of Marillion fame as special guest. The band will release their new album on 30th November 2009. On their official myspace new samples are already online: www.myspace.com/swallowthesundoom

Band guitarist, mainman Juha Raivio:
This is a dream come true, Steve Rothery has always been the most influential guitar player for me. Being a long time Marillion fan, it is an honour beyond words having him playing on one of our songs. This really shows the spirit of a genuine progressive musician, to do this strange collaboration."

Recently the third song is online on myspace. 'Lights On The Lake' features Aleah (of Trees of Eternity) on vocals, and it presents some whole new dimensions to traditional Swallow the Sun sound.

‘New Moon’, the album, is set for a November 30th 2009 release via Spinefarm Records UK. Produced & mixed by Jens Borgen (Opeth, Paradise Lost, etc.) and featuring eight brand new tracks, this is the follow-up release to 2008’s ‘Plague Of Butterflies’ mini-album, and is the first to feature new drummer Kai Hahto, who replaces Pasi Pasanen.

According to Raivio, this album “is the most progressive, sorrowful & beautiful we have done so far… and the most evil as well! This time around, you can never be sure where the songs are going to take you. The depths of hell and heaven are carved deep into these songs.”

Swallow The Sun will be embarking on a headline tour of the UK in November/December 2009.
