Since 1995, the German band STIGMATIZED has been celebrating death / thrash metal. Starting initially as what could be considered a typical thrash band Stigmatized, over time, evolved to include more death metal elements. Starting initially as what could be considered a typical thrash band Stigmatized, over time, evolved to include more death metal elements.The success of the first album (Live in Despair) set the bar high with regards to the expectations of a successful second album. Well known magazines adjudicated upon Live in Despair with highest results: ROCK HARD for example proclaimed: “Death/Trash-Metal at it’s best!” and LEGACY wrote: “…The one and only stigma of this debut it’s the pressure, being measured by it!”
In 2007, Remission Records took notice of the band, this facilitated the production of the second studio album and so ‘Becoming Unique’ was born. This time there was a bigger death metal influence to the song writing. But the typical diversified style and spirit of STIGMATIZED remained. With the new album ‘Whispers of the Dead’, STIGMATIZED offers a felicitous mixture of death and thrash metal. It was recorded under the superb direction of Jörg Uken in the Soundlodge Studio.
