Kryophere are armed with their brand new début album and are gearing up to storm venues across the UK and afar with their heavy anthems and blistering riffs that leave you begging for more. The sleepy valleys of South Wales are shaking from Kryophere’s crushing guitar riffs, deep bass lines and energetic drumming, the initial birthplace of a band waiting to be unleashed across the British Isles in the very near future. ‘Hiraeth’, which means longing in Welsh, promises a ten track musical experience that will leave you, the listener longing for more.
Kryophere are an eclectic, original metal band based in Cardiff, and their début album 'Hiraeth,' produced, mixed, mastered and art directed by Chris “MUG5” Maguire is due for release on AltSounds records on the 1st June 2011. Kryophere have always approached their music with a 'no rules' mentality and the result is a dynamic, eclectic 10 track offering which, while keeping it’s tongue firmly in its cheek, is technical, brutally heavy, and thoughtfully melodic.
Their influences include but are not limited to; Pantera, Decapitated, SiKth, Strapping Young Lad and Meshuggah (to name only a few) and the band continues to evolve, incorporating new elements into their songs to develop a more layered, mature sound. Kryophere describe themselves as a futurist band, always prepared to embrace new ideas and technology in their song writing, live act and recordings in an effort to develop a new, exciting angle on an ever growing and competitive UK scene. With over 100 shows under their belt, they’ve had the pleasure of sharing a stage with many bands over the years including; Abigail Williams, Viatrophy, Romeo Must Die, Raging Speedhorn, Desecration, Traces, Shaped By Fate, Aborted, Send More Paramedics plus many more. Kryophere will be touring throughout Britain and beyond from Februrary 2011 onwards and, as would be expected from a seven piece extreme metal band, the live show is absolutely wild, described in one review as ‘more destructive than Hitler's tour of Europe’.
