Interview withDanny Mass (Vocals) and Ben Farvak (Guitars) from Salvation
It’s a rare sunny afternoon in Leeds and I’m chilling with a cold drink in shade at one of the coolest alternative / indie bars in the city: the Northern Guitar Cafe, where I’m waiting to chat with Ben Farvak and Danny Mass: original members of well-loved Leeds band, SALVATION. There is a relaxed atmosphere in the bar, the music drifting through the speakers adds to the ambience but is not so loud that we can’t have a conversation.

Interview withJuls Garat (vocals) and Claudio Marcio (guitar) from Pilgrims Of Yearning
One of the most amazing things about writing for Reflections of Darkness is finding out about interesting new artists and music. Today is one of those such days. I am interviewing PILGRIMS OF YEARNING (P.O.Y) - a Boston based Darkwave band whose Chilean roots add a distinct Latino flavour to the music. P.O.Y are made up of Juls Garat (vocals and lyrics), Claudio Marcio (guitar and composer) and Sean Woodbury (bass). It may surprise you to learn that South America has a thriving alternative music scene with some very talented musicians - as I’m quickly learning myself. When I was introduced to the band, I wasn’t’ sure what to expect but let me tell you that I’ve been blown away by every song that I’ve heard!

Interview with Potochkine
Today, we have the privilege of delving into the captivating world of music of one of my favourite projects Toulonian duo POTOCHKINE, where dance EBM meets the enchanting charm of French chanson. Since their debut in 2016 with the EP ‘Libérez votre imagination’, this dynamic pair has been breaking through the darkness with their infectious melodies and captivating beats. With three studio albums under their belt, including the latest 2021 release ‘Sortilèges’, POTOCHKINE has been enthralling audiences with their unique musical fusion.

It’s a Thursday evening and I’m sitting upstairs in the private section of one of Leeds great institutions: The Grove pub with another great Leeds institution: THE ROSE OF AVALANCHE were originally founded in 1984 by Phil Morris (vocals) Alan Davis (bass guitar) and Paul James Berry (guitar). With awesome tracks like ‘LA Rain’ and ‘Velveteen’, THE ROSE OF AVALANCHE were a well-loved band in the 80s and released four albums, before going their separate ways in 1992.

Interview with Sean Patrick Nolan (keyboards) from Traitrs
Huge amounts of concerts both in the Us and Europe, massive tour with VNV NATION, intensive concert life far from home - quite a rollercoaster. On the other hand - emotion-loaded, fragile, beautiful music and most vibrant, energetic concerts. The mix of contrasts and high-pitched moments is what can best describe the music and performance style for TRAITRS. With Sean Patrick Nolan about the music, tour life, and inspirations. And much more…
