Reuter is at once chronicler and storyteller, historian and novelist. His concept albums read like a musical diary of Europe: ‘Flowers From Exile’ (Spanish Civil War), ‘A Passage to Rhodesia’ (postcolonial bush war), ‘Die Aesthetik der Herrschaftsfreiheit’ (anarchism) - always imbued with an aesthetic of melancholy and a deep sensitivity for suppressed narratives.
In 2025, ROME will celebrate its 20th anniversary with the grand “One Fire Worldwide Tour”. Together with Michel Spithoven (drums) and Yann Dalscheid (bass, synths), Reuter brings an opulent set to European stages - featuring timeless classics, new material, and the undiminished intensity of an artist who does not simply sing history, but makes it tangible.
Among ROME’s cult classics is without doubt the fourth studio album ‘Flowers From Exile’, originally released in 2009. The record holds a place of honour within ROME’s extensive body of work and remains one of the band’s most important and beloved albums to date. Now, after months of meticulous work and with updated production, the album has been revisited with fresh ears and re-released on 25 July as ‘Flowers From Exile - Revisited’, retaining the essence of the original while revealing new depths. The result is a truly fascinating rediscovery of a modern cult classic.
