Franz Ferdinand - “Greater Glasgow European Cultural Exchange 2026”
In 2004, FRANZ FERDINAND released their debut album ‘Franz Ferdinand’, which has since gone quadruple platinum, and it quickly became clear how much the band from Glasgow, Scotland, would shape the British Rock scene. Their song ‘Take Me Out’ became an absolute global hit, putting the band’s Post-Punk-influenced Indie Rock sound on radio stations worldwide.
Today, FRANZ FERDINAND is credited with playing a major role in the Post-Punk revival of the 2000s. With songs such as ‘Do You Want To’ and ‘No You Girls’, the band continued the success of their debut on their two follow-up albums, reaching number two in the official album charts with both ‘You Could Have It So Much Better’ (2005) and ‘Tonight: Franz Ferdinand’ (2009).
Several UK Top 20 hits in the 2000s were followed by further Top 10 placements, gold records, two Brit Awards and several Grammy Award nominations. In January 2025, FRANZ FERDINAND released their seventh album, ‘The Human Fear’, which was praised by the press for its “wealth of ideas” (Mojo) and “lots of fun” (Classic Pop) and celebrated by fans at completely sold-out shows worldwide. On their “Greater Glasgow European Cultural Exchange” tour 2026, FRANZ FERDINAND will also be coming to Munich, Berlin, Cologne and Frankfurt.
