Interview withSean-Patrick Nolan from Traitrs
The Toronto based duo is about to set off on European tour. With the first show in Hamburg on 25 Mar 2022 they will continue on and perform live in 12 other European cities, including Barcelona, Paris and Leipzig to name just a few. It’s quite an event since the band (like many others for that matter) was not performing for over two years, so definitely it will be quite a treat for the fans to participate in their concerts, especially that there are some great bands accompanying them during the said tour. Interview with Johan van Roy (vocals) from Suicide Commando
“For me music still has all to do with passion, music is my life, music is my passion, music is my therapy!” The new album by the Belgian masters SUICIDE COMMANDO is scheduled to be out in summer 2022. As the band’s mastermind Johan van Roy stated, the works on it are almost finished. We discussed the style of the new release, tour plans and live music experience as well as the vinyl version the of the demo of 1988 that is also to be out late summer this year.

Interview with Tony Kakko (Vocals & Keyboards) from Sonata Arctica
SONATA ARTICA is a Melodic Metal band from Finland that started as a POWER METAL band back in the 1990s and changed their style towards Melodic Metal over the years. In 2019 the band embarked on a tour to perform acoustic versions of songs from their back catalogue for the fans and since the response of the audience was fantastic, the band hit the studio, to record these songs. The recorded material exceeds the length of an album and so the session was divided in two parts. The first part ‘Acoustic Adventures - Volume One’ was released via ATOMIC FIRE RECORDS on January 21st 2022 and a few days later I reached vocalist Tony Kakko at home in Finland via Skype.

Interview with Lars Kappeler (bass guitar) from Sweet Ermengarde
SWEET ERMENGARDE is one of the bands which impressed me most on the Stella Nomine Festival in August. Their dark sound - of which some fans at the festival said it is surely inspired by FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM - and their awesome performance electrified all the people in front of the stage. The dark voice of singer Daniel Schweigler, the heavy bass guitar of band founder Lars Kappeler and the epic soundscape let you immerse in the music and forget about the world for a while. Now I was curious to know what the band is currently planning. After their two albums ‘Raynham Hall’ (2013) and ‘Ex Oblivione’ (2016), SWEET ERMENGARDE released their double single ‘Once You Break / Typhonian Trance’ earlier this year. I talked to Lars Kappeler about a musician’s life in times of the pandemic, their first gig after the lockdown, his own musical influences and his plans with the band.
