The very first THE TWINS single, ‘The Desert Place’, became a hit in the clubs in 1982 and, like the title ‘Face To Face’, entered the US Billboard Dance Charts. The big breakthrough for THE TWINS came in 1983 in Italy, where they reached, before the group POLICE and directly behind CULTURE CLUB, the 2nd place in the annual charts with the titles ‘Face To Face’ and ‘Not The Loving child’. The records of THE TWINS were thus among the most sought-after recordings in this country.

With the top 20 hit ‘Ballet Dancer’, the band succeeded also in Germany in 1984. The singles ‘Love System’ and ‘Love In The Dark’ as well as the album ‘A Wild Romance’ also placed in the German charts. With subsequent live performances in Europe, THE TWINS along with their band proved they were not one of the usual “one-hit wonders”. At the end of 1987, the CBS album ‘Hold On To Your Dreams’ followed, which was presented for the first time in Moscow and Leningrad at ten concerts in front of a total of 150,000 spectators.

In 1991 THE TWINS decided to produce a new album with their biggest hits of the eighties: the LP ‘The Twins - Classics Remixed’. This LP, however, was not a mere string of success songs – THE TWINS recorded their hits anew and put together an album on which the actual character of the songs was maintained, without neglecting contemporary influences of modern dance music. This mixture was well received by the audience. In 1993, the 7th LP, ‘The Impossible Dream’, followed, and the resulting single ‘Tonight’ brought THE TWINS back into the German charts.

In 1995, Sven and Ronny founded their own record label, “Passion Factory Records”. This label, managed by Meisel Musik-Verlag for many years now (owner of the legendary Hansa-Studios and founder of the Hansa Musik Produktion), led to the fact that all records of THE TWINS are again numerous and successful on the market. A real highlight is certainly the album ‘The Twins - Live in Sweden’, the only live album of the group so far. It was recorded in 2005 at an acclaimed concert in Gothenburg.

It’s finally time in 2018 - the waiting of many TWINS fans at home and abroad has an end: The new LP ‘Living For The Future’, the first TWINS album with new titles for 25 years, is released. Sven Dohrow and Ronny Schreinzer have created 12 songs for this, which seamlessly follow their success story. The band’s fans are taken on a trip through Electronic Pop with this album, which has lost neither its topicality nor the charm of the eighties. Also Tim Dowdall, the librettist of many TWINS titles, is back on board. The new TWINS album is a timeless piece of music that will not only appeal to old fans, but will also open up many new ones.
