Now Ego:X is among you.
Finally you hold in your hands, what we’ve been working on for what felt like an eternity. A good time to thank you all – for the many messages you sent, for your praise, your loyalty and patience, but also for constructive criticism. We feel honored that you’ve been following what we do for so many years and that you’ve been with us with your heart and soul. We really appreciate that!

"It is, at its root, an angst ridden 'fuck you' song," explains IAMX's mastermind Chris Corner, about his new single EP "VOLATILE TIMES'', which will be released on September 23, 2011 via BMG Rights Management and distributed by Rough Trade. "The commercialisation of the world, of objects of people and now data is mind numbing to watch. I pity this generation of intelligent, social, tech-savvy zombies... growing up with a wall of possibility and hopeless anxiety in front of them." Always bucking the system that is the "Music Industry" and railing against the stagnancy and commercialization of art, IAMX has taken their dark, midnight electro rock offline label-wise and forged his own path, creatively and business-wise, growing away from the dead-eyed mainstream world and blossoming in a whole new direction. The frustrated and vitriolic single will be released physically as a limited run of only 500 copies, all numbered, and only available through Boutique IAMX (http://boutiqueiamx.eu). Copies that are purchased via the pre-sale that begins on 3 September 2011 will be autographed by Chris Corner.

It's hard not to notice that the number of international newcomer releases in the electronic scene has fallen sharply in the last two years. Small wonder that in the era of YouTube and Rapidshare, it's more difficult than ever before for new bands to sell copies of an album.
In spite of the risks, Dependent have stepped up to the plate and this October will release two new international newcomer albums simultaneously. However, both ENCEPHALON from Canada and ACRETONGUE from South Africa (!) are sure to buck the trend and find favor with fans and buyers on the sheer strength of their material: "We worked over a year with both bands on their albums, refined the tracklists, production, and artwork, and the end result is two exceptional albums from newcomers that really have their own styles, who aren't simply clones of existing acts", wrote Dependent impresario Stefan Herwig in the label newsletter.
