Madrugada - Summer Open Air 2023
When MADRUGADA emerged in Norway’s vibrant Rock scene in the 90s, it was clear from the start that this band was unique. The intensity of their melancholic music, which left a deep, blue mark on audiences and critics alike, was second to none. Timeless, raw and sensitive - the frontman of the power pack, Sivert Høyem, fascinated with his unmistakable baritone voice and entered into a perfect symbiosis with Frode Jacobsen’s powerful bass playing and Jon Lauvland Pettersen’s unique drumming.
Everything went its own way until 2007 when a stroke of fate shook the band. When Robert Burås, the guitarist of MADRUGADA, died, it all became quiet for the Norwegians who, in 2008, despite or perhaps because of the grief for their friend, finished and released their self-titled album. The news of MADRUGADA’s surprise comeback in 2019 has therefore caused a whole wave of joy among her fans at home and abroad. The first shows in February were impressive proof of the timelessness of their sound. In addition, MADRUGADA’s live performance is more focused than ever! And so we are happy that there will be an encore in autumn: with Sivert Høyem, Frode Jacobsen and Jon Lauvland Pettersen, three of the four original members of the band from Norway will set off to play more shows in Germany. And one thing is certain: it will be loud, emotional and full of energy again.
