The Hooters

Their Hits `Johnny B´, `All you Zombies´ and `Karla with a K´ made music history and are still all-time favourite songs on the world-wide radio programme. They collaborated with other famous artists such as CYNDI LAUPER, ROBBIE WILLIAMS and JOAN OSBORNE. They conquered the charts with six studio albums and a characteristic Folk Rock combining traditional guitar sounds with influences of Ska and Reggae. We are talking about THE HOOTERS from Philadelphia. Founded in 1980, the formation released its very successful debut album `Amore´ three years later. The second long-player `Nervous Night´ was even rewarded with platinum and increased the band´s popularity immensely. By the release of `Out of Body´, THE HOOTERS also became famous in Europe, especially in Germany and Sweden, at the beginning of the 1990s. Nevertheless, the band members decided to go separate ways in 1995, as they wanted to focus on solo projects.

Since 2001, Eric Bazilian (vocals, guitar, mandolins, saxophone, flute), Rob Hyman (vocals, organ, accordion, keyboards, harmonica), David Uosikkinen (drums, percussions), John Lilley (guitar, mandolins, vocals) and Fran Smith Jr. (bass, vocals) have been on the road again. After recording the long-player `Time stand still´ (2007), the band also released the live double album `Both Sides live´ showing the electric and acoustic sides of the performances. At the moment, THE HOOTERS are touring Germany and will spend a concert evening at the Frankfurt club Batschkapp on 3rd September 2009.
