Grotesque costumes and strong make-up as it was used by the likes of KISS or ALICE COOPER belong to the trademarks of the band. MATILYN MANSON’s music is hard to pigeonhole into a specific genre. The band combines Hard Rock, Alternative Rock, Industrial Rock and Metal to a unique mixture. Front man Brian Warner uses the band’s name as his alias as well, which leads to MARILYN MANSON often being solely associated with him, while other band members remain in the background. While Warne was a constant member, the rest of the band line-up changes several times. The ban, as well as the artist’s names are made up of the name of an icon e.g. Marilyn Monroe and the name of a mass murderer or serial killer e.g. Charles Manson to symbolize the common bonds between good and evil.
Since its foundation in 1994, the band has released 7 studio albums, the newest one of which is called ‘The High End of Low’, released earlier this year. A lot stuff from this new album and of course from the previous releases will be presented in a unique show when MARILYN MANSON pays Cologne’s Palladium a visit on 19th November 2009 and you don’t want to miss that do you?
