In Extremo
IN EXTREMO, a German folk metal band from Berlin performs medieval traditional songs on different languages, skilfully diluting them with metal. In its music the sound of the electric and bass guitars intertwines with the one of the ancient instruments such as bagpipes, harps, shawms. In the creative search IN EXTREMO, originally a folk rock formation came round to folk metal (1998) with the dash of heavy metal and even industrial metal (2001). But anyway the band preserves its unique style and writes an impressive amount of original material, yet the main part of the repertoire falls on the slightly changed versions of medieval ballads and traditional songs.
IN EXTREMO is famous not only for its music, but for interesting shows. The musicians dressed in medieval clothes do tricks with fire and many other things, and you feel like watching a performance of strolling artists. In Moscow the band will play songs from the last album ‘Sängerkrieg’ and, of course, some well-known old compositions.
