Twice a Man, Portion Control, Edward Ka-Spel
After the first edition of him Vintage Electronics Festival in January pleased all in attendance and left them with happy faces, having just witnessed electronic veterans CLICK CLICK, VOMITO NEGRO and NO MORE., the question whether or not there would be a next festival became completely redundant. For the next edition, no other than the Swedish Electro/New Wave formation TWICE A MAN whose song ‘Decay’ was to become an evergreen in dark scene clubs and saves any further introduction will be headlining the event. Support, if you’d like to call it that way, will be a legend of the Electro genre: PORTION CONTROL from London! With their then-new way of working with samples they were influential for countless bands in the 80s including SKINNY PUPPY.
If you know a little about the side-projects of Cevin Key of the aforementioned band, the name Edward Ka-Spel should’ve crossed your way already. Both collaborate on THE TEAR GARDEN with Edward adding his cryptic lyrics. Besides that, he’s a founding member of the avant-garde group THE LEGENDARY PINK DOTS. This enigmatic being will open this year’s issue of the festival and surely provide for an intriguing start of the festival at Bochum’s Zwischenfall.
