Album Review

“It was a fun recording session, and a relatively easy one because we're so used to playing so many of these songs live. They're like second nature. Most of these songs make their way into our live sets all the time, so they're current - they reach new ears and are constantly refreshed by their exposure to a brand new audience. It's not like they had to be dusted off.”
SICK OF IT ALL about Nonstop

There’s no need to introduce SICK OF IT ALL! Like no other band in New York they’re standing for powerful and Hardcore… they’re legends of NYHC! 25 years of career and a tremendous and impressive list of releases leave no doubt, that these guys have a stake on a lot of Hardcore bands all over the world. Now, in 2011 there’s time to look back and celebrate all the efforts and the hard work - it’s time to bring in the harvest and to brag a bit about the achievements. Yes, it’s time for a “Best of” album, but… not in the usual way. ‘Nonstop’ is not a simple compilation of the all-time favourites, not at all! The guys of SICK OF IT ALL decided to rerecord this bunch of illustrious songs that can be found on the new release. Most of all, the songs avail themselves of more power and drive.

Another reason for the decision of rerecording the songs was that singer “Lou was never happy with his vocals on the first album because he didn't deliver the lines with much intensity. Some of the songs ended up being performed live at drastically different tempos and they became better. This album also serves to put our work from different eras together on one album, which is good for a band who has been around as long as us. We always hear people tell us that they favour one particular album, and it's always because that's the one that introduced them to SOIA. Over the years the band did touch on different directions and either benefited from recording quality or suffered because of it. Some things have worked and some things haven't - so it’s cool to hear all these songs put back to back with the same awesome sound.“

Although SICK OF IT ALL changed several technical parts and arrangement stuff, the attitude is still the same. It’s still pure and f****** NYHC!!! And that’s what counts in large amounts.
