‘Condition Hüman’ is the 2nd QUEENSRŸCHE album after the conflict with their ex-singer Geoff Tate. The first album with Todd LaTorre behind the microphone left me with the sense that it was written fast and this didn't allow them to write a more solid album. ‘Condition Hüman’ seems more solid and better worked out than its predecessor. Todd's voice is even closer to Tate's voice than it was on the ‘Queensrÿche’ album, something that for some is good because they want to remember the band's old days, but for others this is bad because it sounds like Todd is copying Geoff and he doesn't have his own personal style in singing. The production is clearly well-polished and better, in my opinion, than in the ‘Queensrÿche’ album.
My favourite songs from ‘Condition Hüman’ are the IRON MAIDEN influenced ‘Arrow of time’, the “New Resistance” ‘Hellfire’, the old-school ‘All there was’, the ballad ‘Bulletproof’ and the self-titled track of the album, an eight minutes songs which is one of the best songs the band has written after the ‘Promised Land’ album. In ‘Condition Hüman’, QUEENSRŸCHE seems to walk on a safe path without any mood for experimentation, something which for me is alright because the guys are trying to rebuilt the band's reputation after bad albums such as ‘Dedicated To Chaos’ and ‘American Soldier’. On the other hand, the album cannot approach albums like ‘Rage Of Order’ or ‘Operation Mindcrime’, but after the ‘Promised Land’ album it is probably their best or their 2nd best after ‘Mindcrime II’ - you decide!
