Tonight on this Channel: Australian Progressive Metal from THE STRANGER! These lads formed a band in 2013 and decided to throw clean and chilled as fuck progressive music, Heavy Metal and bits and pieces of Death Metal (growls) into a blender and create something that you won’t hear any day. Every here and there you also stumble upon some Pop melodies incorporated in a very complex musical setting filled with big structures that have other songs in themselves (a proggy song in song Matryoshka, so to say). The vocals of Tom Frayne are quite impressive to be honest, he sings, he soars and sometimes he shouts and growls and all that without losing a step. I always get a little startled when he breaks character and switches from clean and melodic to rabies ridden Grizzly but there are plenty of people out there who will love this despite my opinion. It is important to stress that every artist involved here sound like he is on top of his game skill-wise.
Conclusion: If you like your heavy music variable to a hilarious degree and your vocals diverse as fuck you should check this out, really proggy but expertly executed.
