Album Review

PSYCHO SHOP is a French band from Paris and consists of Jessy Vignolle, Raphaël Lebec -called GX and Vincent Blouin. Inspired by German electro music and earlier experiences in different metal bands, they created their own style and recorded the debut album ‘My Sweet Holocaust’ which was released by Firefly and is available now at some online stores. The single ‘Spicy’ is available as a free download at the mySpace site of the band.

The album consists of twelve tracks and the whole playtime is 51:33. It starts by an instrumental intro which merged to the second track and opened the album. The songs are pushing forward with a danceable rhythm and pleasing synth sounds, completed by the melodic voice of the singer. ‘1999’ is the last track and finishes the album - a quieter instrumental song to cool down. The album is easy to listen to, very homogeneous and without flaws. My favourite songs are ‘Spicy’ and ‘Komastar’.
