When was the last time that you heard the Dark Electro scene spawn something really original? Probably quite some time ago. Enter Forgotten Sunrise! The Estonian freethinkers have created their very own sonic universe on “Cretinism”, an utterly imaginative trip into unexplored territories that plays like a menacing, yet highly addictive bastard child of David Lynch, Kirlian Camera, Deine Lakaien, Dead Can Dance and The Prodigy, pierced by ultra-aggressive slashes of death-growl-infused Harsh-Electro-mayhem. What starts out as a darkly tinged Synth-Pop-tune might easily morph into a maddening romp into relentless aggression, Martial and Neo Folk influences go hand in hand with hard electronic club sounds while atmospheric, almost soundtrack-like mind trips are lurking right around the next corner.

In January and February theNAME recorded their new album at producer Jochem Jacobs' studio (ex-Textures). Of course this kind of album can't go without an awesome music video on a great location. Therefore on April 22-24 theNAME is shooting their video at the atmospheric halls of De Lichtfabriek in Haarlem. theNAME started looking for the perfect location and the choice was made easily. De Lichtfabriek, being the perfect decor for the video, will gladly open their doors for the ambitious band and their crew.

Solitary Experiments, Germany’s most successful tightrope walkers between Electro Pop and harder synthetic sounds make a spectacular return. As an adequate appetizer for their new album “PHENOMENA” (scheduled for August 2013), the Berlin-based quartet releases the new Maxi-CD “Trial And Error” on May 17th, right on time for Pentecost. “Why think small when you can go big?” seems to have been the band’s motto, as the strictly limited release (1000 copies in a hand numbered Digipak) sports a total of 11 tracks, thus easily reaching album length. The title track is a vibrant tune with hard beats and an aura of instant catchiness which reminds of the golden age of the Future-Pop-movement in the most positive way.

Imagine Dragons

The US-American Indie-Rock band IMAGINE DRAGONS was founded in 2008. In Germany, singer Dan Reynolds, bassist Ben McKee, guitarist Wayne Sermon and drummer Daniel 'Z' Platzman were successful primarily with their titles 'It's time' and 'Radioactive'. Both singles were from the debut album 'Night Visions', which appeared in 2012. The single 'Radioactive' was also used for a TV advertisement of the computer game 'Asssasin's Creed III'.
