Although Since Monroe sounds like an incredible film about the glamorous Marilyn Monroe and the legacy she’s left behind, it’s actually the name of the latest indie rockers from Birmingham, who are making waves with their awesome compilation of tremor tracks of terrific proportions. The band have infused an incredible amount of eclectic musical skills and talent to create indie rock that’s sure to send sonic shockwaves bursting through speakers near you soon. The indie scene has become a bit varied over the last few years, but Since Monroe are a force that puts the essence of indie back into a genre we all love, in one way or another.

Born in 2009 from the ashes of french metalcore band Draftdown, THE PRESTIGE, an hi-energy quartet from Paris, which plays a mix between (post) chaotic hardcore, intense punk, metal and rock under constant injection of adrenaline, will release its debut full length album on April 3rd through Basement Apes Industries, Brain Ache, Enjoyment Records & Tangled Talk. In waiting for the album, entitled "Black mouths", THE PRESTIGE has just dropped on YouTube its first music video for the song "The truth", also available for free download through Bandcamp! Ahead of the release of their debut EP ‘Partly Faithful’ on 23rd March 2012, Post-Punk collective Partly Faithful will be giving away the self titled track as a free download. You can download and stream the single ‘Partly Faithful’ here.
Harnessing an array of emotions such as anger, resentment and a sense of social disillusionment Partly Faithful layer these themes through stories of vitriolic romanticism entwined with a wry sense of bitterness. Taking away the rose tinted lenses of society Partly Faithful echo the deadpan dark melodic delivery of the ‘Pornography’ era of The Cure via Echo & The Bunnymen combined with the moody undertones of Bauhaus, early Danse Society, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds and Joy Division.

Dawn of Oblivion is back! After almost 9 years of silence from gigging the band is once again back. The official re-union gig will take place at the Nostalgifest festival in Malmö, Sweden at April 28th. They will share this festival with another re-united swedish gothrocking band, Dark Side Cowboys. Dawn of Oblivion will continue with Hard Rock Laager in Estonia on June 29-30. The band today consists of original singer and songwriter Victor Fradera backed up by Stefan Rosqvist (guitar), Jonas Nilsson (bass), Tony Andersson (keyboards) and Mikael Skafar (drums). The gig in Malmö will have a setlist of old favourites from the first 2 albums such as White Zombie, The Oblivion and Xenophobia to get a complete nostalgic touch to the festival. Gigs that follow will incorporate more songs from later albums as well.
