Good news for all fans of the Swedish super-group ROXETTE: now the duo’s guitarist and composer, Per Gessle, is touring Europe presented by Live Nation with all the hits of their unique song canon. PER GESSLE’S ROXETTE presents the authentic feeling of the Pop giants from 11 to 23 October at concerts in Hamburg, Vienna, Berlin and Cologne.
The charismatic singer Marie Fredriksson had retired in the spring of 2016 due to health problems. From members of the original touring band and new musicians, Per Gessle has now formed a group that gives the classics a new perspective. “Of course, Marie is and remains irreplaceable!”emphasizes Per. “But she accompanies us with her best wishes. We both think this is a great opportunity to give our songs a fresh sheen with a slightly changed twist.” Per Gessle believes his newly formed band has mastered all aspects of ROXETTE’s music, from power pop to powerful ballads, who are still in the classic pop radio on high rotation.
Fans will be eagerly awaited with hits like ‘The Look’, ‘Listen To Your Heart’, ‘It Must Have Been Love’, ‘Joyride’, ‘How Do You Do!’ and ‘Sleeping In My Car’. But the tour also offers the opportunity to delve deeper into the ROXETTE catalogue and discover other treasures. With their ground-breaking #1 single ‘The Look’, ROXETTE paved the way for a sensational career. A total of 31 chart-stormers established them as one of the most successful pop groups of all time. The impressive record is reflected in 75 million albums, a success that continued with each new CD.
