FZW, Dortmund, Germany
24th February 2010
Nitzer Ebb

For those, who don’t know them follows a short historical excerpt now. Bon Harris, Douglas McCarthy und David Gooday, who were school friends, founded the band in 1982. None of them could play an instrument, so they decided to buy a sequencer to see what happens. Inspired by pioneers like DAF and DIE KRUPPS, they developed an aggressive, rhythmic and highly danceable style, matured to perfection on the first album ‘That Total Age’ in 1987, released on Mute Records. The breakthrough in Germany came in 1988, when NITZER EBB played as support for DEPECHE MODE.

Four more albums would follow them up before the fateful year of departure came with 1995, and actually no one really would’ve believed NITZER EBB would come back together one day, let alone see them playing live gigs again. But the unbelievable happened and NITZER EBB started crafting new tracks together and even played blistering live shows again. The result of their studio works after many delays will finally see its release on the album ‘Industrial Complex’ at the end of January. Currently, the band is touring again with their old friends of DEPECHE MODE, but besides that will also play a few solo concerts, one of which will lead them to the FZW in Dortmund. 24th February should be marked red in the calendars of those, whose hearts are beating for the good old Electronic Body Music. “Join in the Chant”.
