Obsidian Echoes 2025 with Lebanon Hanover, Cold Cave, Selofan, Ash Code, Ultra Sunn, Soft Analog and more
On 29 November, the Bochum Event Center (BEC) will open its doors for the very first Obsidian Echoes Festival, bringing a line-up to the stage that’s bound to set Darkwave and Synthpop hearts racing.
With the first wave of artists now revealed, the bill already shines with highlights: COLD CAVE, the celebrated masters of Darkwave from the USA, will breathe an icy yet majestic life into the genre. ASH CODE, cult figures of Synthpop, promise an electrifying set, while SOFT ANALOG deliver electronic elegance with touches of retro melancholy.
Also gracing the stage are LEBANON HANOVER, an ice-cold reply to an alienated world, born from the warm beating hearts of Larissa Iceglass and William Maybelline. SELOFAN, the Athens-based duo, bring their death-inspired love story to Bochum. And then there’s ULTRA SUNN, the Brussels duo making serious waves on both sides of the Atlantic. Frontman Sam Huge and keyboardist Gaelle Souflet, now joined on stage by Alexis Andrigo, fuse modern EBM and New Beat with nods to legends like FRONT 242 and NITZER EBB, plus killer collabs with the likes of FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY, TWIN TRIBES and KONTRAVOID.
And this is only the beginning - more top-tier acts will be announced shortly, shaping up to make this an unforgettable night of dark sounds. The Obsidian Echoes Festival promises to blend the rich shades of Darkwave, Synthpop and New Wave, turning the BEC into a realm of nostalgia and modern sonic beauty.
