Die Krupps - “45th Anniversary Tour 2025 - Support: Schattenmann + Johnny Tupolev
Since 1980, the Düsseldorf band DIE KRUPPS has been touring worldwide with their Industrial sound... from the album ‘Stahlwerkssymphonie’, to a METALLICA tribute album, to a collaboration with EBM legends NITZER EBB and supporting MINISTRY on their 2025 US tour.
But there’s no rest in sight for 2025, and the guys are continuing to forge ahead. Their “45th Anniversary Tour” will take them across Europe. After kicking off the tour in Kortrijk, Belgium, DIE KRUPPS made their way to their hometown of Düsseldorf. They were supported by the band SCHATTENMANN and the Wuppertal band JOHNNY TUPOLEV.
Johnny Tupolev
The trio JOHNNY TUPOLEV thrilled the audience during the sound check that evening, drawing visitors away from the beer garden. With their rock music and humour, they won over plenty of new fans. https://www.johnnytupolev.com / https://www.facebook.com/johnny.plutolev
Schattenmann
After JOHNNY TUPOLEV and a short break for set changes, SCHATTENMANN took to the stage. The music became considerably heavier and the band members’ outfits more striking. The bassist favoured a military style, wearing combat boots, a black tank top, a beret and dark sunglasses. Nils Kinzig, drummer for SCHATTENMANN, wore a mask and a black fantasy outfit behind his drum kit. He even walked around in it after the performance.

Most striking was guitarist Jan Suk, who looked like a resident of the Avatar world with his black and white striped body painting. Singer Frank Herzig got straight down to business after taking to the stage and had the audience rocking. Of course, the new song ‘Kein Kommando’, which celebrated its video premiere on YouTube that evening, was also a must. https://www.schattenmann.net / https://www.facebook.com/schattenmannband
Die Krupps
The Stahlofon was set up, and after a long wait, DIE KRUPPS finally took to the stage at ZAKK in Düsseldorf. From that moment on, it was almost impossible to get through, with fans packed tightly together. In front of the large emblem of a zeppelin flying through a cogwheel, Paul took his place behind his drum kit and Ralf warmed up his fingers for the keyboards. After the new guitarist Dylan introduced himself to the audience, singer Jurgen Engler followed suit.

The band kicked off with ‘Nazis auf Speed’, and after ‘Der Amboss’ - a cover of the VISAGE classic - followed ‘On Collision Course’. This was one of the new songs, who was published on the limited EP. Of course, Jurgen's performance on the Stahlofon was also a must. As always, Jurgen was completely in his element and jumped back onto the Stahlofon to the delight of the audience.

During the encore, ‘Machineries of Joy’, Jurgen took his whistle out of his pocket. After this song, the band said goodbye to loud applause and thanked the fans, visibly moved. It was clear that all the band members had enjoyed themselves that evening. https://www.diekrupps.com / https://www.facebook.com/diekruppsofficial
